An idea in development for the last four years became a reality this year as the KRM soccer team, KRM United, kicked off their first season in the local Louisville Soccer League. Refugees and staff members from different walks of life were joined together by the most popular sport in the world and embarked on a short eight-week journey that will end this upcoming Sunday. Players and staff members forming the team came from countries such as Nepal, Bosnia, Burma, Haiti, Cuba, Sudan, Iraq and the USA. We believe that playing and participating in KRM United goes beyond the soccer field. Through soccer, KRM United promotes integration of refugees into our local Louisville community. Players learn the benefits of working hard, being part of the team, and are encouraged to build friendships and unity within the team and the city-wide community. The team, league fees, and equipment were all funded 100% through donations of a few local businesses and many KRM staff members. We would love to keep this program and the team for many more seasons to come, but we need your help. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the KRM United fund. We believe that we all come away from this soccer experience with a keen appreciation for each other and our different backgrounds and what can be achieved if we work together. Yours, KRM United
