KRM Clients Sell Handcrafted Pote Mala Necklaces
Heine Brothers Coffee
June 2010

Handcrafted Pote Mala necklaces, made by KRM clients, can be purchased at the Heine Brother Coffee locations at Gardiner Lane, Bardstown Road & Eastern Parkway, and Frankfort Avenue. For examples of some of the necklaces for sale, please see our Photo Gallery under the "Features" tab.

Pote Mala are necklaces traditionally worn by married women in Nepal. The necklaces are a symbol of respect and love, primarily given by the husband's family. Each necklace is completely unique in design and is crafted by hand using high quality glass beads. These necklaces are crafted locally in Louisville by Bhutanese refugees. The purchase of a necklace directly supports the continuation of the artist's traditional craft while allowing her to supplement her family's income.
